RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING: (A) THE WAIVER OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) PROCESS; (B) THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH PACIFICA RESOURCE CENTER/A PROJECT OF THE TIDES CENTER TO PROVIDE CORE SERVICES, FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2007 TO JUNE 30, 2010, IN THE AMOUNT OF $108,701, $108,701 IS NET COUNTY COST FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-08; AND (C) THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY TO EXECUTE SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS AND MINOR MODIFICATIONS NOT TO EXCEED AN AGGREGATE OF $25,000, AND TO MAKE MINOR CHANGES IN THE TYPES OF SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES PROVIDED UNDER THE AGREEMENT

 

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with Pacifica Resource Center/A Project of the Tides Center for the purpose of providing Core Services, such as information and referral, emergency assistance, case management and other social services; and

 

WHEREAS, the term of this Agreement is July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010 with a total obligation of $108,701 for Fiscal Year 2007-08; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the form of this Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into said Agreement; and

WHEREAS, it is in the County’s best interests to waive the RFP process because Pacifica Resource Center is one of the seven recommended Core Service providers. Pacifica is the only provider of these services in the area, and has been successfully providing these unique Core Services for San Mateo County residents and the approval of an Agreement with Pacifica Resource Center will ensure that there is no interruption of services.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that

A. The Request for Proposal process is waived;

B. The President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

C. The Director of the Human Services Agency shall be authorized to execute subsequent amendments and minor modifications not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000, and to make minor changes in the types of services and activities provided under the Agreement.
