RESOLUTION 1) AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A $260,305 CALIFORNIA AIR RESOURCES BOARD LOW-EMISSIONS CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT GRANT FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE OFF-ROAD DIESEL VEHICLES AND PLUG-IN DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER RETROFIT EQUIPMENT FOR THESE THREE VEHICLES; 2) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SIGN THE GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA AIR RESOURCES BOARD; 3) WAIVING THE COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT PROCESS; 4) AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO A PURCHASE ORDER WITH JOHN DEERE EQUIPMENT AND
PAPE’ MACHINERY AND A PURCHASE ORDER WITH TRACTOR EQUIPMENT SALES FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE THREE OFF-ROAD DIESEL VEHICLES AND PLUG-IN DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER RETROFIT EQUIPMENT FOR THESE THREE VEHICLES; AND 5) AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF UP TO $66,299 FROM THE PARKS DEPARTMENT’S VEHICLE REPLACEMENT FUND AS MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE GRANT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, of the State of California, that
|
|
WHEREAS, the California Air Resources Board has a one-time allocation of $25 million available for Low-EmissionS Construction Equipment grants for public agency off-road construction equipment fleets with funding available for engines and equipment that will remain in the agencies’ fleets long-term; and
|
|
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Air Resources Board require the grantee to certify by resolution the acceptance of such grant agreement and its terms and conditions; and
|
|
WHEREAS, the California Air Resources Board requires that only vendors and equipment it has certified may be used for the purchases of off-road construction equipment using these grant funds, and
|
|
WHEREAS, John Deere Equipment and Pape’ Machinery and Tractor Equipment Sales meet those qualifications; and
|
|
WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo will comply with the assurances.
|
|
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors by adoption of this Resolution hereby 1) authorizes the acceptance of a $260,305 California Air Resources Board Low-Emissions Construction Equipment Grant for the purchase of three off-road diesel vehicles and plug-in diesel particulate filter retrofit equipment for these three vehicles; 2) authorizes the Director of the Department of Parks or his designee to sign the grant agreement with the California Air Resources Board; 3) waives the competitive procurement process; 4) authorizes the Purchasing Agent to enter into a Purchase Order with John Deere Equipment and Pape’ Machinery and a Purchase Order with Tractor Equipment Sales for the purchase of the three off-road diesel vehicles and plug-in diesel particulate filter retrofit equipment for these three vehicles; and 5) authorizes the allocation of up to $66,299 from the Parks Department’s Vehicle Replacement Fund as matching funds for the grant.
