RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING

Arthur & Patricia Armstrong

Upon Their

50th Wedding Anniversary

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Arthur and Patricia Armstrong met in 1955 as single parents volunteering at their sons’ co-op preschool in the Noe Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. After their June 5, 1957, City Hall wedding, they camped at Clearlake for a honeymoon; and

   

WHEREAS, younger sister Patricia soon joined stepbrothers Art and Paul, and by 1959, the Armstrong family moved to a house on Keith Avenue in the Vallemar area of Pacifica; and

   

WHEREAS, Art Sr. worked for PG&E for more than 30 years and through the 1960s indulged in his passion for motorcycles with the Golden Gate Motorcycle Club; he continues to volunteer his time at San Pedro County Park; and

   

WHEREAS, Pat dedicated most of her professional life toward enriching the physical and mental well-being of seniors, mainly through her instructional classes at Doelger Senior Center in Daly City; and

   

WHEREAS, Art and Pat raised three children together, and helped to nurture three grandchildren; and they are often found walking through Montara Mountain or just sharing a meal, as they have done countless times for five decades and counting.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Arthur and Patricia Armstrong upon their Golden Jubilee, and hereby extends sincere wishes for many, many more years of unconditional love and shared peace and happiness.
