RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||
CAPTAIN DON O’KEEFE | ||||

WHEREAS, CAPTAIN DON O’KEEFE was hired in 1980 by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office and has worked in all major divisions of the Sheriff’s Office, including Jail, Patrol and Investigations Divisions, as well as specialty assignments such as Field Training Officer, Detective, S.W.A.T. team member & tactical commander; and | ||||
WHEREAS, CAPTAIN DON O’KEEFE was promoted to Captain in 2001 and commanded the Support Services Division from March 2001 to February 2005, and has been the Commanding Officer of the Field Operations Division (Patrol & OES) and the Investigations Division from March 2005 to present; and | ||||
WHEREAS, CAPTAIN DON O’KEEFE’S additional assignments have included Supervising Sergeant of the East Palo Alto Regional Investigative Bureau and Commander of the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force, and he was one of the founding members of the San Mateo County Gang Task Force; and | ||||
WHEREAS, CAPTAIN DON O’KEEFE possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Administration from the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco, and is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy (172nd session) in Quantico, Virginia, the P.O.S.T. Command College and the West Point Leadership Program held at the Los Angeles Police Department; and | ||||
WHEREAS, CAPTAIN DON O’KEEFE believes that a law enforcement agency should be an integral part of the community it serves and is currently a member of the Redwood City Rotary Club, and believes in public/private partnerships that benefit the community, especially for our youth. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on May 31, 2007, hereby honors and commends CAPTAIN DON O’KEEFE for his 27 years of dedication and commitment with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, and congratulates him on his new role as Chief of Police for the City of Half Moon Bay. | ||||
