RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY’S ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $63,045 AND IN-KIND GIFTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $47,150 FROM THE SAN MATEO COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION FOUNDATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation (Foundation) has raised $63,045 in donations for the Department of Parks for interpretive signage installation at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve (FMR), support for the Volunteer Program, a bridge rating study at Edgewood Park and Natural Preserve (EPNP), support for Bicycle Sunday, mowing for butterfly habitat at EPNP, trenching at FMR for a future Interpretive center, and a grant match for a Weed Management Area Grant for eradication of non-native and invasive grasses at EPNP; and

WHEREAS, the Foundation has made in-kind gifts in the amount of $47,150 for four (4) interpretive signs, preparation of a fault trace report and archeological study for FMR; an archeological study for Mirada Surf; and Dr. Stuart Weiss’ monitoring of butterfly populations at EPNP.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution hereby approves the acceptance of the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation donations in the amount of $63,045 and in-kind gifts in the amount of $47,150.
