RESOLUTION

THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

DILDAR GILL PISANI, Ed.D.

WHEREAS, DR. DILDAR GILL PISANI has served a term on the Board of Directors of the San Mateo Public Library Foundation which originated in 2000 and is now completing a thirty month commitment as President, presiding from January 2005 through June 2007; and

WHEREAS, DR. DILDAR GILL PISANI brought vision and leadership to the Library Foundation during her tenure as President, including mobilization of the Board of Directors to advance the professionalism and structure of the San Mateo Public Library Foundation; and

WHEREAS, DR. DILDAR GILL PISANI lead the Board of Directors and staff through continued operations of the Library Foundation during a period of transitions and a substantial period of fundraising to surge towards the goal of attaining $10 million in donations for the Capital Campaign for the New Main Library; and

WHEREAS, DR. DILDAR GILL PISANI always acted with grace, style, warmth and humor, even under pressure, while serving as a highly credible spokesperson of the Library Foundation by reinforcing the dignity and stature of the Foundation with donors, key representatives, and the general public; and

WHEREAS, DR. DILDAR GILL PISANI, as President of the Library Foundation, contributed countless numbers of hours each week to assist the Foundation Board and staff members in attaining the Foundation’s goals; and

WHEREAS, DR. DILDAR GILL PISANI exemplified leadership and conviction during one of the most magnificent achievements in the history of the City of San Mateo: the Grand Opening of the New Main Library of the San Mateo Public Library,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends DR. DILDAR GILL PISANI and honors her leadership and achievements while serving on the Board of Directors of the San Mateo Public Library Foundation and, recognizes her citizenship and volunteer participation which has contributed significantly to ensuring that high-quality library services are available today and for future generations of San Mateo Public Library patrons.
