RESOLUTION
   

THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

DANIEL F. QUIGG

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Daniel F. Quigg, outgoing President of the Millbrae Lions Club, has demonstrated an outstanding record of personal and public leadership and upon the completion of its presidential duties, is deserving of special honors and highest commendations; and

   

WHEREAS, Mr. Quigg has been a member of the Millbrae Lions Club since 1981, and the Millbrae Lions Club has benefited from the enthusiasm of Mr. Quigg in the realization of projects, his leadership abilities and his commitment to public concerns; and

   

WHEREAS, under the leadership of Mr. Quigg, the Millbrae Lions Club generated funding to support youth programs, community and private schools and programs for seniors and he oversaw clean up of Millbrae parks and collected donations for the hearing and sight impaired; and

   

WHEREAS, under the leadership of Mr. Quigg, the Millbrae Lions Club has made contributions to many causes including, but not limited to, the City of Hope Cancer Center, Canine Companions for Independence, the Lions Eye Foundation and the San Mateo County Peace Officers and Firefighters Awards; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Quigg is respected, admired and appreciated for his commitment to Lionism.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on July 14, 2007, hereby commends and honors Daniel F. Quigg for his exemplary work as President of the Millbrae Lions Club and for his outstanding contributions to that organization and the entire community.
