RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Frank Aguerre | ||||

WHEREAS, Frank Aguerre was born in San Francisco, California to a blue-collar family whose father was a Teamster Local 860 member and whose mother was a homemaker and retail clerk union member; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Mr. Aguerre attended private Catholic schools in San Francisco from first through twelfth grade and while at Sacred Heart met his wife, Haydee, while she attended Cathedral High School, and together they had three lovely daughters: Haydee, Francine and Christina; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Mr. Aguerre was introduced to the electrical industry by a childhood friend whose father owned a union contracting company, where he worked during the summers while in high school, and after completing school he delivered tools and materials to various jobsites, where the electricians he met encouraged him to apply for the apprenticeship program; and | ||||
WHEREAS, in 1988, Mr. Aguerre was accepted into the apprenticeship program in San Mateo County and completed his five-year training in 1993, then began attending general meetings religiously as a new member and was subsequently rewarded with an appointment to the Local 617 Referral Committee and the Bylaws Committee, on which he served for several years, in addition to other volunteer work; and WHEREAS, Mr. Aguerre worked in the field as a wireman and progressed into supervisory position and beginning in 2001, served on the Executive Board; and WHEREAS, in September of 2004, Mr. Aguerre became a Business Representative, then an Assistant Business Manager, and finally a Business Manager; and | ||||
WHEREAS, to date, one of his proudest achievements is the assistance he provided in the installation of the San Mateo County Central Labor Council phone bank center located inside Local 617’s building, where he met with the software provider for the auto dialing system, educated himself on the operations of the system, worked on setting up the workstations, and later participated with the other volunteers to make nightly phone calls and assist in the recording and reporting of this data; and WHEREAS, Mr. Aguerre is currently the Treasurer of the San Mateo County Central Labor Council. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED Frank Aguerre has devoted his time and energy to help promote the IBEW, as well as the labor movement as a whole, and his ongoing support of and dedication to the Labor Community in San Mateo is greatly appreciated. | ||||
