Background
On June 29, 2004, your Board approved an Agreement with Golden State Services to provide linen and laundry management at SMMC and Burlingame Long Term Care. The maximum amount of the Agreement is $3,024,026 and the term of the Agreement was July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2007.
On February 8, 2005, the Agreement was amended to change all references to “Golden State Services” to “Angelica Textile Services, Inc.,” due to a company merger.

Discussion
A Request for Proposal (RFP) for linen services has been developed and published. The contract is expected to be awarded in mid July. To allow for continued linen service and payment of invoices received for that service it is necessary to extend the term of the current Agreement.
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Amendment.

Fiscal Impact
The term of this Agreement will be July 1, 2004 through August 31, 2007. The maximum amount of the Agreement, $3,024,026, remains the same. There is no fiscal impact associated with this Amendment.
