Amendment to Agreement with Stat Nurses International

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt a resolution authorizing the execution of an Amendment to the Agreement with Stat Nurses International, Inc. to authorize its assignment to Health Talent, Inc. to provide nursing and/or rehabilitation staff upon request from San Mateo Medical Center, Burlingame Long Term Care and the AIDS Program.

The Agreement contributes to this commitment and goal by providing qualified nursing and/or rehabilitation staff to county patients at SMMC, Burlingame Long Term Care and the AIDS Program.

A decreased nursing vacancy rate helps to decrease registry cost and helps maintain the required nursing ratio in California.

 
 
 
 

BACKGROUND:

On June 27, 2006, the Board of Supervisors authorized an agreement with AMN Healthcare, Inc., Arcadia Health Services, Inc., Cross Country TravCorps, Inc., dba Cross County Staffing on behalf of itself and affiliates, Novapro, Inc., and Assignment America, Inc., Emerald Health Services, First Call Nursing Services, Inc., Medstaff, Inc., Pelican Resources Registry, Relief Nursing Services, Stat Nurses International, Inc., and UNI for the term July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2008, in an amount not to exceed $3,830,000 collectively for the ten agreements.

 

DISCUSSION:

On February 1, 2007, Stat Nurses International, Inc. changed its name to Health Talent, Inc. Pursuant to the terms of the Agreement with Stat Nurses, the County’s consent is required in order to assign the Agreement to Health Talent, Inc.

County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Agreement.

The contractor has assured compliance with the County's Contractor Employee Jury Service Ordinance, as well as all other contract provisions that are required by County ordinance and administrative memoranda, including but not limited to insurance, hold harmless, non-discrimination and equal benefits.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The term and amount of the agreement remain the same. There is no fiscal impact.
