RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT ASSIGNING AND TRANSFERRING ALL RIGHTS AND INTERESTS OF GRANT AGREEMENT 04-35711 WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES, OFFICE OF FAMILY PLANNING, MALE INVOLVEMENT PROGRAM TO TEEN PREGNANCY COALITION OF SAN MATEO COUNTY AS OF JULY 1, 2007

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on April 26, 2005, the Board of Supervisors through Resolution 067265 approved an Agreement with the California Department of Health Services for the period January 1, 2005 through June 30, 2009 to create the Male Involvement Program (MIP) in San Mateo County; and

WHEREAS, on October 24, 2006, the Board of Supervisors through Resolution 068356 approved an Amendment to the Agreement with the California Department of Health Services allowing MIP to subcontract with the Teen Pregnancy Coalition of San Mateo County (TPC) for community education and changing the grantee name to “County of San Mateo”; and

WHEREAS, reassignment of the MIP grant to TPC improves program administration and delivery and allows more at-risk young men in San Mateo County to benefit directly from the services designed to prevent teen pregnancy; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the California Department of Health Services Grant Agreement Amendment, has examined and approved it as to both form and content, and desires to enter into the Amendment to the Agreement to reassign the MIP grant to the Teen Pregnancy Coalition:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors execute an Amendment assigning and transferring all rights and interests in Grant Agreement 04-35711 with the California Department of Health Services, Office of Family Planning, Male Involvement Program to the Teen Pregnancy Coalition of San Mateo County as of July 1, 2007, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
