RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BLUE RIBBON TASK FORCE ON ADULT HEALTH CARE COVERAGE EXPANSION PRELIMINARY RECOMMENDATIONS AND AGREEING TO RECONVENE THE TASK FORCE IN THE FALL AND RECEIVE FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS BY THE END OF 2007

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, to address the challenges facing uninsured adults living in San Mateo County, the Board formed the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion on June 26, 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion process has brought together representatives from private and public health sectors, cities, labor, and business, to provide the Board with recommendations on options for providing comprehensive health care access and/or insurance coverage targeted at uninsured adults in San Mateo County living at or below 400% Federal Poverty Level; and

 

WHEREAS, the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion planning process involved over seventy-five community members from key sectors of the County; and

 

WHEREAS, this report on preliminary recommendations from the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion is intended to expand coverage and improve care for uninsured adults below 400% Federal Poverty Level living in San Mateo County and to guide the development of final recommendations:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors accept the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion preliminary recommendations and agree to reconvene the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion in the fall and receive final recommendations by the end of 2007.
