BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ACCEPT THE DONATION OF A 1997 FORD F-350 TRUCK FROM THE PACIFIC GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY, VALUED AT APPROXIMATELY $6,000, FOR USE OF THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS (SWAT) TEAM.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team provides a ready response to situations that are beyond the capabilities of normally equipped and trained law enforcement personnel; and

WHEREAS, the Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Company has expressed their desire to donate a 1997 Ford F-350 Truck, valued at approximately $6,000; and

WHEREAS, the donation will provide a place for specialized SWAT equipment which has been displaced due to the conversion of the inside compartment of the SWAT van as a Tactical Command Center; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been requested by the Sheriff to accept said donation for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and finds it necessary and desirable to do so:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT the President of the Board of Supervisors, on behalf of the County of San Mateo, hereby accepts the donation of a 1997 Ford F-350 Truck from the Pacific Gas & Electric Company for use of the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, for and behalf of the County of San Mateo, and offers its thanks to the Pacific Gas & Electric Company for the generous donation.
