THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS | ||||
RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||
ED EVERETT UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM A TENURE OF 15 YEARS AS THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY | ||||

WHEREAS, Ed Everett received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from U.C. Davis in 1966 and his Master’s degree in Urban Affairs from Princeton University in 1973, served in Vietnam, and gained valuable experience in inner cities as a VISTA Volunteer; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Ed Everett served as a Program Analyst and Fire Chief for the City of Palo Alto, an Assistant County Manager in Washoe County, Nevada, and a City Manager in Belmont prior to assuming his position as City Manager for Redwood City; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Ed Everett’s true passion is the concept of “building a great community, together,” which focuses both on providing excellent city services and engaging the city’s residents as partners in making the community a better place for everyone, and this passion permeated the entire organization; and | ||||

WHEREAS, during his tenure as City Manager, Ed Everett displayed strong leadership, creativity, tenacity, loyalty, and an ability to inspire and motivate an entire organization; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Ed Everett retires after completing 34 years of outstanding public service, and his dedication and commitment to the community and the greater public good is deserving of the highest honor and praise. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, now honors the career of Ed Everett with gratitude for the legacy of excellence he built in the City of Redwood City and appreciation of a job well done. | ||||
