RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS WITH DISCHARGE RESOURCE GROUP (DRG) FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2007 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010, AND PEDIATRIC CONTRACTING SERVICES (PCS) FOR THE TERM OF OCTOBER 1, 2007 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010, TO PROVIDE PEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL AND PHYSICAL THERAPY SERVICES IN THE COLLECTIVE AMOUNT OF $748,800

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the State mandates that the Medical Therapy Unit (MTU) of California Children’s Services provides physical and occupational therapy services to medically-eligible children; and

 

WHEREAS, MTU periodically encounters sudden increases in the number of referrals, as well as short term staffing shortages for a variety of reasons, which circumstances have led to children being forced to wait for therapy services; and

 

WHEREAS, contracting with Discharge Resource Group and Pediatric Contracting Services is necessary to ensure that clients receive timely treatment when caseloads fluctuate and or/ during staff absences; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with Pediatric Contracting Services to provide pediatric occupational and physical therapists as needed for the period of October 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010, and an Agreement with Discharge Resource Group to provide the same services for the period of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010, for a total obligation that shall not exceed a collective amount of $748,800; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has examined and approved the same as to form and content and desires to enter into said Agreements:

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreements for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
