IN-HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PUBLIC AUTHORITY,
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE IN-HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES (IHSS) PUBLIC AUTHORITY TO APPROVE A $1.00 PER HOUR WAGE INCREASE, FROM $10.50 TO $11.50 PER HOUR, FOR IHSS INDEPENDENT PROVIDERS EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2007 CONTINGENT ON THE STATE’S ABILITY TO PROCESS THE WAGE INCREASE BY THIS DATE, AND SUBMISSION OF THE RESOLUTION TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES (DDS)

RESOLVED, by the In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo has designated itself as the Governing Board of the San Mateo County IHSS Public Authority to carry out programs pursuant to the In-Home Supportive Services program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is committed to increasing the Independent Provider wage by $1.00 to $11.50 per hour effective October 1, 2007 contingent on the State’s timeframe in processing this required documentation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is committed to paying the County share of the cost of this increase including payroll taxes of $.10 per hour; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors understands that the total County share of this wage increase is estimated to be $576,794 for the fiscal year 2007-08:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Governing Board be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute the IHSS Independent Provider wage of $11.50 per hour and payroll taxes of $.10 per hour effective October 1, 2007 contingent on the State’s processing of this documentation, certifies that it is committed to paying the County share of these costs, and approves submission of this new wage and payroll taxes to the State Department of Social Services for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
