RESOLUTION WAIVING THE RFP PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH APPLIED MANAGEMENT ENGINEERING, INC. FOR A COMPREHENSIVE FACILITIES EVALUATION OF COUNTY-OWNED FACILITIES

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California that

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works previously conducted a Request for Proposals for a Comprehensive Facilities Evaluation of Various County Facilities; and contracted with Applied Management Engineering, Inc hereafter referred to as AME, to evaluate County Facilities; and

WHEREAS, AME did complete said evaluation and set up and installed the Facility Condition Information System, a proprietary software system owned by AME incorporating all data collected during their evaluation; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has determined that functionality of the system and information contained therein is of great benefit to the county; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works now desires to expand the system to incorporate all county-owned facilities not yet evaluated, including county parks; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that the Board waive the Request for Proposal process and authorize the President of the Board to execute an agreement with Applied Management Engineering, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance, an Agreement with AME in the amount of $232,972 for a term of 5 months to complete the assessment of county facilities: and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Request for the Proposal requirement is hereby waived; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is authorized to execute said agreement with Applied Management Engineering, Inc. for a Comprehensive Facilities Evaluation of various County Facilities.
