RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH HYDROSCIENCE ENGINEERS, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF
$154,228 FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR A SEWER SYSTEM IN THE COMMUNITY OF PESCADERO

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 31000, County may contract with independent contractors for the furnishing of special services to or for County or any department thereof; and

WHEREAS, the public interest and general welfare will be served by selecting and utilizing a Consulting Engineer for the engineering services in connection with the Feasibility Study for a Sewer System in the Community of Pescadero; and

WHEREAS, HydroScience Engineers, Inc. is a competent civil engineering firm qualified and with employees duly licensed to perform such engineering services in connection with said project; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into and Agreement in the amount of $154,228.00 for the feasibility study of a sewer system in the community of Pescadero; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has been authorized to negotiate and execute a grant agreement and any amendments and change orders thereto and to certify disbursements on behalf of the County of San Mateo in connection with said project as provided in Resolution No. 068624.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows:

1.

That HydroScience Engineers, Inc. be employed to perform engineering work under the direction of the Director of Public Works on the Feasibility Study for a Sewer System in the community of Pescadero in accordance with the terms and conditions of said Agreement.

2.

That payments to HydroScience Engineers, Inc. shall not exceed the sum of One Hundred Fifty-Four Thousand Two Hundred Twenty-Eight and No/100 Dollars ($154,228.00) without this Board’s approval.

3.

On behalf of the County of San Mateo, the Director of Public Works is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Agreement with HydroScience Engineers Inc.
