BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, SITTING AS THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO IMPLEMENT REVISED UTILITY ALLOWANCE SCHEDULES FOR RESIDENTS OF ITS PUBLIC HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS AND FOR PARTICIPANTS IN THE HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, sitting as the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires that housing authorities update their Utility Allowance Schedules annually and to utilize the revised schedules to determine tenant rents at its Public Housing developments and to determine program participant rent in its Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority has engaged a consultant to conduct a study of local utility rates and their effect upon low income families; and

 

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority has notified program participants of its intent to implement the new Utility Allowance Schedules effective November1, 2007; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board is authorized to approve the revised Utility Allowance Schedules; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to the Board of Commissioners for its consideration and acceptance the revised Utility Allowance Schedules reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, and the Board of Commissioners has examined and approved the same as to form and content.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority authorize the Executive Director to implement the revised Utility Allowance Schedules for residents of its Public Housing developments and for participants in the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
