RESOLUTION: 1) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AMENDMENTS TO AGREEMENTS WITH ASIAN AMERICAN RECOVERY SERVICES, INC., SOUTH COAST CHILDREN’S SERVICES, AND YOUTH LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE, INCREASING THE AMOUNT FOR ASIAN AMERICAN RECOVERY SERVICES, INC. BY $54,000 FROM $162,000 TO $216,000, INCREASING THE AMOUNT FOR SOUTH COAST CHILDREN’S SERVICES BY $27,528 FROM $82,584 TO $110,112, AND INCREASING THE AMOUNT FOR YOUTH LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE BY $41,000 FROM $123,000 TO $164,000, FOR A TOTAL INCREASE OF $122,528 WITH NO CHANGE TO THE AGREEMENTS’ TERMS; AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT OR THE DIRECTOR'S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH ANY MODIFICATIONS MADE BY THE STATE WITH RESPECT TO THE GRANTS AND TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY'S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on January 31, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 067797, which authorized the President of the Board to execute Agreements with Asian American Recovery Services and Youth Leadership Institute, and on March 20, 2006, the County Manager approved Agreement 74100-06-C235 with South Coast Children’s Services; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance Amendments to the Agreements with Asian American Recovery Services, Inc., South Coast Children’s Services and Youth Leadership Institute, for the provision of providing funding for July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007; and

WHEREAS, the term of these Agreements will remain January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2007, increasing the amount for Asian American Recovery Services, Inc. by $54,000 from $162,000 to $216,000, South Coast Children’s Services by $27,528 from $82,584 to $110,112, and Youth Leadership Institute by $41,000 from $123,000, to $164,000, for a total increase of $122,528 and a total obligation of $490,112; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of these Amendments and has examined and approved such Amendments as to both form and content and desires to enter into these Amendments:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendments to the Agreements with Asian American Recovery Services, Inc., South Coast Children’s Services, and Youth Leadership Institute for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Health Department or the Director's designee is authorized to execute all necessary documents in connection with any modifications made by the State with respect to the grants and to execute contract amendments which modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
