John L. Maltbie, County Manager
SUBJECT:
Adoption of Ordinance Amending Title 2, Section 2.10.080 and 2.72.020 of the San Mateo County Ordinance Code
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt an ordinance amending Sections 2.10.080 Charge of County Buildings and Grounds and 2.27.020 Travel Expenses.
VISION ALIGNMENT:
Commitment: Responsive and effective and collaborative government
Goal(s): County employees understand, support and integrate the vision and goals into their delivery of services.
BACKGROUND:
The San Mateo County Ordinance Code, first organized in the 1950’s, has retained its original structure and organization. The Code is organized into broad groups, which are referred to as titles. Title 2 is the primary law on County organization and operations.
DISCUSSION:
Attachment A reflects the two proposed amendments. The amendment to 2.10.080 would ensure the County Manager approves the use of county buildings or grounds for events that are of benefit to the County. The amendment to 2.72.020 would further restrict the use of County owned or leased vehicles and equipment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Unknown; potential cost savings through enhanced control and restricted use of County buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment.
