RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADOPTION AND EXECUTION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE HEALTH CARE POLICIES: 1) CHARITY CARE POLICY; AND 2) DISCOUNTED HEALTH CARE POLICY

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, there have been changes to the California Health and Safety Code (AB774) that require hospitals to provide discounts and charity care to uninsured individuals with incomes up to 350% of the federal poverty level and individuals with high medical costs;

WHEREAS, the County Ordinance Code requires the County to adopt policies and procedures regarding health service programs; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board for its consideration and acceptance, two financial assistance polices, namely 1) Charity Care Policy; and 2) Discounted Health Care Policy and desires to adopt these policies to be implemented by the County.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the financial assistance polices, namely 1) Charity Care; and 2) Discounted Health Care be adopted and implemented.
