COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

RON COX

For His Dedicated Service and Lasting Contributions to the

City of Foster City

WHEREAS, RON COX was first elected to serve the residents of Foster City in 1999, thus beginning a distinguished tenure as a member of the City Council; and

WHEREAS, RON COX was elected to serve a second four-year term in 2003; and

WHEREAS, RON COX served three years as Mayor of Foster City in 1999, 2002, and 2006; and

WHEREAS, RON COX, in addition to his commitment to the residents of Foster City as a member of the City Council, has been highly active in community programs such as the Citizen Oversight Committee for the San Mateo Union High School District, the Foster City Chamber of Commerce, the Foster City Little League, AYSO, and, in one of his favorite roles, the City Council liaison to the Parks and Recreation Committee; and

WHEREAS, RON COX maintained Foster City’s renowned reputation for fiscal responsibility, made apparent by the Financial Services Awards presented to the City during his tenure including: Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005) and Outstanding Financial Reporting (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005); and

WHEREAS, RON COX, has concluded his career as an elected official of the Foster City Council after more than 8 years of unwavering, dedicated, and distinguished service to the residents of Foster City.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends RON COX and honors his leadership and his achievements while serving as a Councilmember and Mayor of the City of Foster City.
