THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

NADIA V. HOLOBER

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Nadia Holober has been a member of the San Mateo County Council of Cities, the Mayor’s Civic Coordinating Council, the C/CAG Board of Directors, the Joint Committee on El Camino Real, the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance and the Council of Cities Legislative Committee, was the Chair of the Local Agency Formation Commission, the ABAG Executive Board Representative for San Mateo County Cities, the San Mateo County Library JPA chair, the California League of Cities Environmental Quality Policy Committee Representative, and Liaison to the Sister City Commission and to the Downtown Process Committee; and

   

WHEREAS, Nadia V. Holober was elected to the Millbrae City Council in 1999 and reelected in 2003; and

   

WHEREAS, Nadia V. Holober served as Vice Mayor from 2002-2003 and 2006-2007 and Mayor from 2003-2004; and

   

WHEREAS, Nadia V. Holober as Mayor was responsible for accomplishing many significant achievements for the City of Millbrae, including, leading the campaign for the passage of a Fire Assessment that saved Fire Station 8, the opening of the Millbrae Library, appointment of the City Manager after 18 months without a permanent City Manager, widening Millbrae Avenue at El Camino Real, appointment of a new City Clerk, completion of Marina Vista Linear Park as part of the BART Extension Mitigation, stabilization of the City’s financial situation beginning Millbrae’s economic recovery, and the adoption of a balanced budget.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on November 27, 2007, hereby honors and commends Nadia V. Holober for her many years of service to the City of Millbrae and congratulates her upon her leaving office.
