SUBJECT:

Acceptance of a Grant Award from the Grove Foundation

 

RECOMMENDATION:

1.

Adopt a Resolution accepting a grant from the Grove Foundation in the amount of $25,000 to be used for the San Mateo Adult Dental Program.

2.

Approve an Appropriation Transfer Request (ATR) to accept unanticipated revenue ($25,000) for FY2007-08 and appropriate new revenue to Regular Hour – Permanent Positions ($25,000).

BACKGROUND:

The Grove Foundation realized a need for dental services for low-income non-insured or insufficiently insured patients. As a result the Foundation offered funds to help bring dental services in the Southern part of the County. This is the third year that San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) has received funding from the Grove Foundation.

 

DISCUSSION:

By letter dated April 9, 2007 from the Grove Foundation, SMMC was awarded a grant in the amount of $25,000 to be used for the San Mateo County Adult Dental Program.

The Resolution will allow the County to accept the grant award and appropriate the funds.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no net county cost associated with this project. The maximum amount of the award is $25,000. This amount is included in the Adopted Budget for

FY2007-08.
