____________________________________________________________________

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

    WHEREAS, California voters passed Proposition 1B in November 2006, which authorized the distribution of bond monies to California public agencies for the purpose of maintaining and improving an agency’s road infrastructure; and

WHEREAS, San Mateo County is eligible for bond funds in the amount of $7,180,739.91 in 2008; and

WHEREAS, the bond initiative requires that a local agency’s governing Board approve those specific project limits for which the use of bond monies is proposed, spend the funds and construct the improvements within three years of the allocation; and

WHEREAS, your Board previously approved, in its 2007-08 and 2008-09 budget, a regional allocation of Road Funds for Public Works projects; and

WHEREAS, Public Works continues to propose that projects allocated in the 2007-08 project be constructed in 2008, but now proposes that additional projects originally budgeted for 2008-09 also be budgeted for construction in 2008, in order to collect the full amount of the bond funds being made available; and

    WHEREAS, the specific limits of the road projects currently being proposed by Public Works are attached hereto as Exhibit “A”;

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows:

1.

That the specific project limits identified in Exhibit “A”, attached hereto, be adopted by your Board as the road projects intended for construction by the Department of Public Works in 2008.
