BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, SITTING AS THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION APPROVING A REVISED FLAT RENT SCHEDULE FOR THE HOUSING AUTHORITY’S PUBLIC HOUSING PROGRAM

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, sitting as the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, flat rents are designed to encourage self-sufficiency and to avoid creating disincentives for continued residency by families who are attempting to become economically self-sufficient;

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority must ensure that flat rents continue to mirror market rent values;

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority received a Consolidated Review audit from HUD in April 2007 in which a finding was issued stating the Housing Authority must update the Flat Rent schedule for its Public Housing Program and obtain Board approval for it;

WHEREAS, this Board is authorized to approve the Flat Rent schedule;

WHEREAS, there has been presented to the Board of Commissioners for its consideration and acceptance the Flat Rent schedule reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, and the Board has examined and approved the same as to form and content.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority, approve the Flat Rent schedule.
