RESOLUTION APPROVING SUBMITTALS FOR A FITZGERALD MARINE RESERVE VEGETATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM PROPOSAL AND A MIDCOAST GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT PROJECT

PROPOSAL TO THE CALIFORNIA RESOURCES AGENCY FOR

THE COASTAL IMPACT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND BUILDING TO APPLY FOR APPROXIMATELY $279,000 IN FUNDING

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Mineral Management Service is authorized to disperse Outer Continental Shelf revenues to impacted states and coastal counties; and

WHEREAS, San Mateo County has been allotted approximately $279,000; and

WHEREAS, the California Resources Agency is the lead agency for implementing the federal Coastal Impact Assistance Program and developing the State Project and Expenditure Plan; and

WHEREAS, the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Vegetation Management Program is the first tier proposed project for San Mateo County and the Midcoast Groundwater Assessment and Management Project is the second tier proposal for the County; and

WHEREAS, the Mineral Management Service will accept grant applications after approval of the Coastal Impact Assistance Program Plan.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors approves submittals for a Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Vegetation Management Program proposal and a Midcoast Groundwater Assessment and Management Project proposal to the California Resources Agency for the Coastal Impact Assistance Program and authorizes the Director of Parks and the Director of Planning and Building to apply for approximately $279,000 in funding.
