BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION (A) WAIVING THE COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT PROCESS, AND (B) AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR UP TO $160,000 WITH TRACTOR EQUIPMENT SALES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF A RUBBER TIRE ROLLER, AND (C) AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF A MOTOR GRADER CAT 12 G TO THE BYRON BETHANY IRRIGATION DISTRICT IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received a grant from the California Air Resources Board for One Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars for the purchase of construction and off-road equipment; and

WHEREAS, the California Air Resources Board requires that only vendors and equipment it has certified be purchased with these grants, and

WHEREAS, Tractor Equipment Sales meets these qualifications and also offers special governmental pricing for the desired equipment; and

WHEREAS, the grant from California Air Resources Board requires that equipment being replaced must be permanently scrapped or donated to another public entity; and

WHEREAS, the Byron Bethany Irrigation District in Contra Costa County has notified the Air District that it would like to be considered if a Motor Grader becomes available for reallocation.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that (A) the competitive procurement process is waived, and (B) the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a Purchase Order for up to a maximum of $160,000 with Tractor Equipment Sales for the purchase of a Bomag BW 27 RH Roller, and (C) the County’s Surplus Property Officer is hereby authorized to donate the Motor Grader Cat 12 G currently owned by the County, to the Byron Bethany Irrigation District in Contra Costa County.
