BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO IMPLEMENT THE POLICY ON GRANTING PERMITS FOR NON-STANDARD IMPROVEMENTS IN COUNTY ROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors adopted road standards specifying limits and types of roadway improvements for the Mid-Coast, Sequoia Tract, West Menlo Park, Menlo Oaks and Devonshire areas; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works issues encroachment permits for the construction of facilities in County road rights-of-way; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has received requests for approval of sidewalks, paths, valley gutters and other facilities in County road rights-of-way where the area standards do not include such facilities, and for other types of improvements that were not envisioned when the County standards were adopted; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that this Board establish a policy on granting permits for non-standard improvements in County road rights-of-way where it is in the public interest to do so; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

 

The Director of Public Works is directed to implement the “Policy On Granting Permits For Non-Standard Improvements In County Road Rights-Of-Way,” attached hereto as Exhibit ‘A’.
