AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 043830
The Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, ordains as follows:
SECTION 1. Part 4 of the Ordinance is amended as indicated:
ORGANIZATION 55500 POLICY AND PLANNING
1.	The Director of Policy and Planning assigned responsibility as Special Assistant to the County Manager, Healthcare Redesign Initiative, shall receive a differential of 10% in addition to all other compensation. Only one employee at a time may be so assigned to this assignment.
ORGANIZATION 66600 SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER
2.	The Salary for item D159, Clinical Services Manager - Laboratory, is changed to range 6592.
SECTION 2. Part 12 of the Ordinance is amended as indicated:
ORGANIZATION 14000 CONTROLLER’S OFFICE
1.	Item D184S, Management Analyst Series, is decreased by 1 position for a new total of 1 position.
2.	Item D045, Administrative Services Manager I, is increased by 1 position for new total of 1 position.
ORGANIZATION 15000 TAX COLLECTOR-TREASURER’S OFFICE
1.	Item V235, Information Technology Analyst, is increased by 1 position for a new total of 2 positions.
ORGANIZATION 30000 SHERIFF’S OFFICE
1.	Item H029S, Criminalist Series, is decreased by 1 position for a new total of 11 positions.
2.	Item H027, Supervising Criminalist - E, is increased by 1 position for a new total of 4 positions.
ORGANIZATION 38000 PLANNING DEPARTMENT
1.	Item R020, Senior Planner - E, is decreased by 1 position for a new total of 4 positions.
2.	Item D041, Transportation Systems Coordinator, is increased by 1 position for a new total of 1 position.
ORGANIZATION 48300 TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
1.	Item B211, Transportation Systems Coordinator - Unclassified, is increased by 2 positions for a new total of 3 positions.
ORGANIZATION 55500 POLICY AND PLANNING
1.	Item E411S, Patient Services Assistant Series, is decreased by 7 positions for a new total of 0 positions.
2.	Item E483S, Health Benefits Analyst Series, is increased by 7 positions for a new total of 7 positions.
3.	Item E413, Lead Patient Services Assistant, is decreased by 1 position for a new total of 0 positions.
4.	Item G226S, Community Program Specialist Series, is increased by 1 position for a new total of 3 positions.
ORGANIZATION 66000 SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER
1.	Item E411S, Patient Services Assistant Series, is decreased by 20 positions for a new total of 94 positions.
2.	Item E483S, Health Benefits Analyst Series, is increased by 20 positions for a new total of 20 positions.
3.	Item E414, Patient Services Specialist, is decreased by 3 positions for a new total of 30 positions.
4.	Item E485, Lead Health Benefits Analyst, is increased by 3 positions for a new total of 3 positions.
SECTION 3. The change for Organization 55500 of Section 1 is effective retroactive to January 13, 2008. The changes for Organization 14000 of Section 2 items 1 and 2 is effective retroactive to August 26, 2007, the changes for Organization 38000 of Section 2 items 1 and 2 is effective retroactive to December 30, 2007, and the changes for Organization 55500 and 66000 of Section 2 items 1, 2, 3 and 4 is effective retroactive to July 29, 2007. All other parts of this ordinance are effective at the start of the first pay period 30 days following adoption.
