RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING: A. THE PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT COMPUTER SERVER EQUIPMENT FOR THE CALWORKS INFORMATION NETWORK (CALWIN), PURSUANT TO THE SEPTEMBER 12, 2000 AGREEMENT WITH ELECTRONIC DATA SYSTEMS, AS AMENDED, INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $225,864 TO $14,181,182, OF WHICH $10,164 IS NET COUNTY COST; AND B. THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY, OR THE DIRECTOR’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE THE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that
|
|
WHEREAS, on September 12, 2000, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 63914 authorizing the execution of an Agreement with the Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in the amount of $11,357,524, for the term of July 1, 1999 to June 30, 2008, to design and develop CalWIN in conjunction with the 18-county Welfare Client Data System (WCDS) consortium; and

WHEREAS, on January 29, 2008, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Number 069236 authoring the execution of an Amendment to this Agreement to increase funding in the amount of $2,597,794, for a total obligation of $13,955,318, and to extend the term to July 31, 2010, for EDS to continue to provide maintenance and operations services for CalWIN; and

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to purchase replacement computer hardware in the amount of $225,864, for a total obligation of $14,181,182, for EDS to for the continued operation for CalWIN; and
|
|
WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with evidence that the current Agreement provides for this purchase, under section 7.1, page 28 and Exhibit C, section C, pages 7-1 through 7-38, and said Board has approved this purchase.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors hereby authorizes the purchase of the replacement computer service equipment for CalWIN pursuant to the September 12, 2000 Agreement with EDS, as amended and authorizes the Director of Human Services Agency or the Director’s designee to execute the documents necessary to complete the purchase.
