RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL BY THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND BUILDING OF AN APPLICATION FOR A $750,000 GRANT FROM THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION’S (MTC) STATION AREA PLANNING PROGRAM, TO FUND AN UPDATE OF THE NORTH FAIR OAKS (NFO) COMMUNITY PLAN

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s Station Area Planning Program is an initiative to finance planning efforts that will result in land use plans and policies that increase transit ridership around public transit hubs and bus and rail corridors in the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area;

 

WHEREAS, North Fair Oaks has been designated as a Priority Development Area and is therefore eligible for funding from the Station Area Planning Program;

 

WHEREAS, the existing North Fair Oaks Community Plan was adopted in 1979, and is in need of a comprehensive update;

 

WHEREAS, the Planning and Building Department is the appropriate lead agency to initiate and manage a specific planning process for the North Fair Oaks Area.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors authorizes the Director of the Planning and Building Department to submit an application for a grant of $750,000 from the MTC Station Area Planning Program, to be used to fund the creation of a new specific plan for the North Fair Oaks Area.
