RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Susan E. Manheimer | ||||
Upon Her Induction Into The | ||||
San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame | ||||

WHEREAS, Susan E. Manheimer is the first female police chief in the City of San Mateo, appointed to that post in May 2000 after some 16 years and becoming captain of the Tenderloin Task Force with the San Francisco Police Department; and | ||||
WHEREAS, during her years with SFPD, Susan served on robbery decoy assignments, gang and violent-crime suppression operations, special events and dignitary protection details; and | ||||
WHEREAS, as head of the San Mateo Police Department, Susan’s proactive and community-based, hands-on style has helped reduce crime, while raising the quality of life for residents, especially for those in the North Amphlett neighborhood and for members of the Tongan community; and | ||||
WHEREAS, additionally, Susan’s leadership is underscored by her initiatives on homelessness, school violence prevention; gang and delinquency prevention; domestic violence prevention, plus her generosity with time and resources for multiple organizations, ranging from the California Police Chiefs Association to the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center to the San Mateo Rotary Club. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Susan E. Manheimer upon her induction into the San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame. The Board hereby extends to Susan and her family its gratitude and adds sincere wishes for continued excellence. | ||||
