RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Maureen Perron | ||||
Upon Her Induction Into The | ||||
San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame | ||||

WHEREAS, Maureen Perron is a registered dietitian, program manager and sole employee of the Coastside Health Committee, a local non-profit focused on improving and enhancing health care services along San Mateo County’s coastal communities; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Maureen’s passion for reducing and eliminating health care disparities, especially among underserved, high-risk populations, pushes her to create program after program, including CHC’s ongoing support for the Sonrisa Community Dental Center; the partnership with Seton Coastside Hospital and the Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Program; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Maureen also has established leadership training courses tailored for the Latino community on the coast; worked with Caņada College to provide courses in Spanish at a coast-side low-income housing complex, resulting in the college eventually increasing their course offerings in Spanish on the coast; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Maureen’s work epitomizes the notion of “Thinking Globally, Acting Locally,” as she identifies community needs and quickly, and often singularly, assembles the resources needed to meet those needs. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Maureen Perron upon her induction into the San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame. The Board hereby extends to Maureen and her family its gratitude and adds sincere wishes for continued excellence. | ||||
