RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Lisa Chan | ||||
Upon Her Induction Into The | ||||
San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame Young Woman of Excellence | ||||

WHEREAS, Lisa Chan is founding president and CEO of Bay Area Strive, a youth-run non-profit organization dedicated to improving K-12 public education through enhancements to critical thinking, creative writing, leadership and the arts; and | ||||
WHEREAS, since 2003, Lisa has totaled more than 1,000 volunteer hours with several entities, including Seton Medical Center, On Lok Senior Center, the Lake Merced Library, Best Buddies Programs, Christian Youth Camps, the Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen and the St. Anthony Foundation; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Lisa is the 2007 Miss San Francisco’s Outstanding Teen, with a platform of “Empowering the Youth towards an Educational Revolution;” and | ||||
WHEREAS, Lisa’s work has earned several awards, including a local Jefferson Award, the Target Young Leader Award, the Bank of America Leadership Initiative Award and Next Step Magazine’s Super Teen Award. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Lisa Chan upon her induction into the San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame. The Board hereby extends to Lisa and her family its gratitude and adds sincere wishes for continued excellence. | ||||
