RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Natasha LaVogue | ||||
Upon Her Induction Into The | ||||
San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame Young Woman of Excellence | ||||

WHEREAS, Natasha LaVogue has overcome significant personal challenges to become a role model and leader among her peers, demonstrating tremendous courage and perseverance, while inspiring others to reach beyond themselves; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Natasha was identified during her sophomore year as an "at-risk" youth due to problems with drug use and school delinquency; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Natasha made the decision to take responsibility for herself, redefine her personal goals, re-establish her confidence and self-respect and to use her experiences to help other young people struggling against similar hurdles; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Natasha continues to focus on reducing youth access to tobacco and alcohol, pushing harsher penalties for retailers selling to minors, organizing grassroots efforts aimed at healthy lifestyles for teens and speaking publicly about the risks associated with substance abuse. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Natasha LaVogue upon her induction into the San Mateo County Women’s Hall of Fame. The Board hereby extends to Natasha and her family its gratitude and adds sincere wishes for continued excellence. | ||||
