WHEREAS, SAN MATEO HIGH SCHOOL, established in 1902, has a long and proud record of scholastic achievement, including recognition as a National Distinguished Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education, and receipt of a Gold Standard Award for Academic Excellence from California Business for Education Excellence; and | |||||
WHEREAS, SAN MATEO HIGH SCHOOL has seen its alumni go on to great success in every area of human endeavor including, the sciences, the arts and athletics; and | |||||
WHEREAS, currently enrolled students JORDAN PITULEY, ELIOT STORCH and ANDREW TESAROWSKI, coached by JARED WILKE, represented SAN MATEO HIGH SCHOOL in the 2008 Bay Area Quiz Kids Championship; and | |||||
WHEREAS, the SAN MATEO HIGH SCHOOL team of JORDAN PITULEY, ELIOT STORCH and ANDREW TESAROWSKI, coached by JARED WILKE, defeated the number one ranked team from Homestead High by a score of 450 to 360 in the semi-finals thanks to a strong showing in the Extreme Lightning Round; and | |||||

WHEREAS, the team of Bearcats from SAN MATEO HIGH SCHOOL, JORDAN PITULEY, ELIOT STORCH and ANDREW TESAROWSKI, coached by JARED WILKE, was crowned as the winners of the 2008 Quiz Kids Championship after beating the team from Bentley of Lafayette by a score of 480 to 290 in the championship round | |||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends the 2008 Bay Area Quiz Kids team from SAN MATEO HIGH SCHOOL TEAM of JORDAN PITULEY, ELIOT STORCH and ANDREW TESAROWSKI coached by JARED WILKE and congratulates them on their victory in the 2008 Bay Area Quiz Kids Championship. | |||||
