Appointment to the Agricultural Advisory Board

RECOMMENDATION:

Appoint Christopher Devcich to the Agricultural Advisory Board representing the category of Public Member. The appointment would be effective immediately and run for a term to conclude on June 30, 2012.

VISION ALIGNMENT:

Commitment: Realize the potential of our diverse population.

Goal(s): Civic engagement -- including voting, public service, charitable giving, volunteerism, and participation in public discussions of important issues -- is uniformly high among the diverse population of San Mateo County.

BACKGROUND:

There are currently four vacancies on the Agricultural Advisory Board including one vacancy for the public member position.

Christopher Devcich is a resident of Half Moon Bay who lives and works as a financial advisor in the coastside community. Among his many civic engagements, Mr. Devcich is a member of IDES, the Knights of Columbus and a member of the San Mateo Estate Planning Council. His dedication to the community and strong financial background will make him an excellent public member of the Agricultural Advisory Board.
