RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AND THE CALIFORNIA STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES (CSAC) IN WHICH SAN MATEO COUNTY IS A CONSORTIUM COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF SAN MATEO COUNTY PAYING A ONE-TIME SHARE OF COST TOWARDS THE FUNDING OF NINE CALWIN PROJECT STAFF FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2007 TO JUNE 30, 2008, INCREASING SAN MATEO COUNTY’S COST BY $55,037 TO $119,538, OF WHICH $2,752 IS NET COUNTY COST.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on June 21, 2007, the County Manager approved Agreement No. 72200-08-C017 with the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) in the amount of $64,501, for the term of July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008, to provide management services for the oversight of Welfare Case Data Systems (WCDS).; and

WHEREAS, The Welfare Client Data Systems (WCDS) has notified Consortium counties about a cut in funding for nine existing CalWIN project staff, and these staff are critical to the operation of the Consortium and the CalWIN application, and the Consortium has recommended a one-time cost-sharing arrangement where each county contribute a portion of staff costs based on county size; and

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to Amend this Agreement to include San Mateo County’s one-time share of cost in the amount of $55,037, for a total County obligation of $119,538 with the term remaining July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Amendment, and said Board has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
