BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION 1) AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO ACCEPT A SAN MATEO COUNTYWIDE WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PROGRAM GRANT AWARD IN THE AMOUNT OF $250,000 FOR A FITZGERALD MARINE RESERVE PARKING LOT DEMONSTRATION PROJECT; AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS, AS AGENT TO CONDUCT ALL NEGOTIATIONS, EXECUTE AND SUBMIT ALL DOCUMENTS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO AGREEMENTS, PAYMENT REQUESTS AND SO ON, WHICH MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE COMPLETION OF THIS PROJECT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the City/County Association of Governments (C/CAG) manages the San Mateo Countywide Water Pollution Prevention Program (SMCWPPP) which is funded by fees collected from the Vehicle Registration Fee (AB1546) Program; and

 

WHEREAS, C/CAG’s Vehicle Registration Fee (AB1546) Program authorizes funding of stormwater pollution prevention projects related to vehicles or vehicle infrastructure such as the Sustainable Streets and Parking Lots for San Mateo County; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of C/CAG approved funding for the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Parking Lot Demonstration Project at their June 14, 2007 meeting; and

 

WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Department of Parks would like to implement stormwater site design and treatment as part of the planned construction of a new parking lot and Visitor Center at the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve to make the connection between controlling stormwater pollution and the benefits for protecting marine life.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors by adoption of this resolution 1) authorizes the County of San Mateo to accept a San Mateo Countywide Water Pollution Prevention Program grant award in the amount of $250,000 for a Fitzgerald Marine Reserve Parking Lot Demonstration Project; and 2) authorizes the Director, Department of Parks, as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to agreements, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of this project.
