RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH HFS CONSULTANTS TO PROVIDE SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER (SMMC) WITH AN INTERIM LABORATORY MANAGER, INCREASING THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT PAYABLE BY $150,000 TO $450,000, AND EXTENDING THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT BY SEVEN AND ONE HALF MONTHS, TO NOVEMBER 15, 2008

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the position of Laboratory Director at San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) is vacant and recruitment for a permanent Director is ongoing; and

WHEREAS, the County wishes to amend its Agreement with HFS Consultants, whereby the contractor provides Laboratory Director Services, by increasing the maximum amount of the Agreement by $150,000 to an amount not to exceed $450,000, and extending the term of the Agreement by seven and one half months, to November 15, 2008; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a Second Amendment to the Agreement between the County of San Mateo and HFS Consultants, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, and the Board of Supervisors has examined and approved the same as to form and content and desires to enter into it.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signatures thereto.
