COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING

Bayshore Child Care Services

Upon The Celebration of Its

30^th Anniversary

WHEREAS, Bayshore Child Care Services started in a Daly City church basement serving infants and preschoolers so their parents could work; and

WHEREAS, from that basement, Bayshore Child Care Services grew to five sites in Daly City providing high-quality care and education to more than 350 children and their families, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., 250 days a year; and

WHEREAS, Bayshore Child Care Services focuses on providing subsidized services for low-income families, of which 95 percent are employed, with 72 percent classified as extremely low-income; and

WHEREAS, Bayshore Child Care Services includes programs for school-age children, up to and including age 12, who attend during school breaks and participate in before- and after-school activities; and

WHEREAS, for three decades and counting, Bayshore Child Care Services has demonstrated leadership in and advocacy for coordinated, comprehensive and affordable child care for all families from any background throughout the Peninsula.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Bayshore Child Care Services upon its 30^th anniversary. The Board hereby expresses its gratitude and adds sincere wishes for at least another three decades of success and excellence.
