RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING
|
|
|
MID-PENINSULA
BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
|

|
WHEREAS, on this 6th day of May, two thousand and eight, the MID-PENINSULA BOYS & GIRLS CLUB honors high school students in our community for their accomplishments and their character through the “Laws of Life” essay contest and “All District High School Senior Class Awards”; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, the MID-PENINSULA BOYS & GIRLS CLUB’S “Laws of Life” essay contest is a character-education program that gives young people at Junipero Serra High School, Mercy High School, and the schools in the San Mateo Union High School District the unique opportunity to reflect on and write about values and ethics that they believe will help them lead successful and productive lives; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, the “Laws of Life” are the core values and ideals by which we live; the universal laws such as love, service, honesty, respect and courage – that transcend religions, cultures and national borders; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, the “All District High School Senior Class Awards” contest was established in 1995 by the Rotary Club of San Mateo Sunrise to recognize the leadership & accomplishments of outstanding high school seniors in the San Mateo Union High School District, Junipero Serra High School and Mercy High School.
|
|
|
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the members of the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County extend their congratulations to the MID-PENINSULA BOYS & GIRLS CLUB and to all of the participants in the “Laws of Life” essay contest and the “All District High School Senior Class Awards” and extend their best wishes for continued success.
