RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Operation Access Kaiser Permanente San Mateo County | ||||

10th Anniversary | ||||

WHEREAS, in spring 1998, Kaiser Permanente physicians and staff in Redwood City and South San Francisco began volunteering with Operation Access, which provides free surgical services to low-income, under-insured or uninsured patients; and | ||||
WHEREAS, in 2007, Kaiser Permanente-South San Francisco received 111 referrals to the program, an increase of 50 percent from 2006; | ||||
WHEREAS, in 2007, Kaiser Permanente-Redwood City received 132 referrals to the program, an increase of 45 percent from 2006; | ||||
WHEREAS, for 10 years, from hernia repairs to cyst removals to various orthopaedic procedures, Kaiser Permanente has underwritten approximately $297,100 in surgeries in South San Francisco and approximately $347,000 in Redwood City; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Kaiser Permanente, through its participation in Operation Access, has demonstrated unwavering commitment to its community and to improving the lives of thousands of patients and their families throughout San Mateo County. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco and Redwood City upon the 10th anniversary of their participation in Operation Access, and recognizes all Kaiser Permanente physicians and staff who have made Operation Access such a success on the Peninsula. The Board further expresses its gratitude and extends sincere wishes for additional decades of excellence and success. | ||||
