RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BLUE RIBBON TASK FORCE ON ADULT HEALTH CARE COVERAGE EXPANSION FINAL PLANNING PHASE RECOMMENDATIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, to address the challenges facing uninsured adults living in San Mateo County, the Board formed the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion on June 26, 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board adopted the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health

Care Coverage Expansion Preliminary Recommendations on July 24, 2007, through

Resolution Number 68874, and agreed to reconvene the Blue Ribbon Task Force on

Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion to develop final recommendations; and

 

WHEREAS, the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion process has brought together representatives from private and public health sectors, cities, labor, and business, to provide the Board with recommendations on options for providing comprehensive health care access and/or insurance coverage targeted at uninsured adults in San Mateo County living at or below 400% Federal Poverty Level; and

WHEREAS, these Final Planning Phase Recommendations from the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion are intended to expand coverage and improve care for uninsured and underserved adults below 400% Federal Poverty Level living in San Mateo County; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has been presented with the Final

Planning Phase Recommendations from the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health

Care Coverage Expansion and has examined and approved the recommendations as to

form and content:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors accept the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Adult Health Care Coverage Expansion Final Planning Phase Recommendations.
