    RESOLUTION
    AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT FOR ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SERVICES AT VARIOUS COUNTY HEALTH AND HOSPITAL FACILITIES, WITH ASCENT ELEVATOR COMPANY FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $123,496, WITH AN OPTION TO RENEW FOR AN ADDITIONAL TWO YEARS AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $95,462

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, on January 29, 2008, the Department of Public Works distributed a request for Bid (RFB) for elevator maintenance and repairs to County elevators at various County facilities; and

 

WHEREAS, on February 28, 2008 four companies submitted bids for providing maintenance and repairs to County Elevators; and

 

WHEREAS, the Bid submitted by Ascent Elevator Company for Health and Hospital facilities in the amount of $93,496 for a three-year agreement was the low bidder and selected as being in the best interest of the County; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board desires to enter into an agreement with Ascent Elevator Company for maintenance and repair work to County elevators for Health and Hospital facilities.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED

 

1.

That it is in the best interest of the County of San Mateo to award the agreement for providing elevator maintenance and repairs at various County Health and Hospital Facilities to:

 

Ascent Elevator Company

San Francisco, Ca 94124

 

2.

That the President of the Board of Supervisors shall be, and is hereby, authorized and directed, for and on the behalf of the County of San Mateo, to enter into said written agreement with Ascent Elevator Company,

 

3.

That all payments to the Contractor be in accordance with the agreement documents,

 

4.

That the aggregate payments to Ascent Elevator Company for Health and Hospital facilities during the three-year term of the agreement shall not exceed the sum of $123,496, which includes a contingency amount of $30,000 for emergency and non-routine repair service; and

 

5.

That these contingency funds may only be expended with the prior authorization from the Public Works Department; and

 

6.

That upon approval of the Board this agreement may be extended for up to an additional two years if it is in the best interest of the County, at a cost not to exceed $95,462, which includes a contingency amount of $20,000 for emergency and non-routine repair services.
