RESOLUTION

THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING
ARNE CROCE
Upon his retirement from the City of San Mateo
after 18 years of service as City Manager

WHEREAS, effective June 20th, 2008, ARNE CROCE will conclude 18 years of distinguished service as City Manager of the City of San Mateo; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, ARNE CROCE’s 18 year tenure as City Manager, being rare in a profession with frequent turnover, reflects his ability to serve the residents of San Mateo with unparalleled responsiveness and creativity; and
|
|
WHEREAS, ARNE CROCE’s 18 year tenure as City Manager reflects his commitment to the community in which he both lived and worked; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, under ARNE CROCE’s leadership, the City of San Mateo now enjoys a new public library, two renovated fire stations, a modernized wastewater treatment plant, a rebuilt municipal golf course, and a thriving, vibrant downtown; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, ARNE CROCE played an instrumental role in the development of the Rail Corridor Transit Oriented Development Plan to address a critical housing shortage both in San Mateo and throughout the County; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, ARNE CROCE has left the City of San Mateo in the hands of capable, talented managers and highly skilled staff, all of whom have benefited from his expert tutelage; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, ARNE CROCE was the recipient of the California City Management Foundation’s annual statewide award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Profession’; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, ARNE CROCE served as the president of the San Mateo County City Managers Association, on the Executive Committee on the League of California Cities City Managers Department, and is a member and credentialed manager of the International City/County Management Association.
|
|
|
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends ARNE CROCE for his distinguished career in public service, and wishes him a fruitful and rewarding retirement.
