RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE GRANT AGREEMENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR MATCHING GRANTS EQUAL TO TWO AND ONE-HALF PERCENT (2.5%) OF FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION GRANTS (AIP NO. 3-06-0210-12 AND AIP NO. 3-06-0210-13) AT THE SAN CARLOS AIRPORT,
AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO EXECUTE ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has authorized the acceptance of two Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport improvement grants (AIP No. 3-06-0210-12 and AIP No. 3-06-0210-13), in the amounts of $500,000 and $333,721, respectively, for the design and construction of safety and infrastructure improvements at the San Carlos Airport; and

WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (DOT), pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 21683.1, may provide matching grants equal to two and one-half percent (2.5%) of FAA grant amounts; and

WHEREAS, the DOT requires a local agency, as a condition of receiving these matching grant funds, to adopt a resolution authorizing the submittal of an application and the execution of a grant agreement for the acceptance of said grant funds; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that a grant application be made to the DOT for matching funds to help finance the design and construction of safety and infrastructure improvements at the San Carlos Airport; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

The President of this Board is authorized to execute grant agreements with the California Department of Transportation for matching grants equal to two and one-half percent (2.5%) of Federal Aviation Administration grants (AIP No. 3-06-0210-12 and AIP No. 3-06-0210-13) at the San Carlos Airport. This amount will equal $12,500 for the FAA grant of $500,000 and $8,343 for the FAA grant of $333,721; and

The Director of Public Works is authorized to execute any other documents associated with the application and acceptance of said grant funds from the California Department of Transportation.
