RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

JOHN MUNIZ

MILLBRAE LIONS CLUB PRESIDENT

2007 - 2008

WHEREAS, JOHN MUNIZ has been a member of the of the Millbrae Lions Club since September 11, 2002, and has held the positions of Director, Bulletin Editor, Second Vice President and President; and

   

WHEREAS, JOHN MUNIZ has chaired many Millbrae Lions Club projects and community events, such as Sports Appreciation Night, the Millbrae Historical Society 4th of July Picnic, the T-Ball Hotdog Day for the Millbrae Lions Baseball Program, the Millbrae Lions Club Community Blood Drive and the Asia New Year Festival, and has been the Co-Chair for the Millbrae Lions Club Leo’s Club and the Rocky Lombardi Family Picnic; and

   

WHEREAS, JOHN MUNIZ has served as the Vice President of the Millbrae Historical Society and the President of the Millbrae Lions Club from 2007-2008, and was Lion of the year for 2002-2003; and

   

WHEREAS, JOHN MUNIZ has given generously to numerous community projects and programs, such as the Lions International Campaign Sight First II, the Lions Youth Camps & Exchange, the Peninsula Council of Lions Police and Fire Awards Program, the Millbrae Man and Woman of the Year event, and many other worthy causes; and

   

WHEREAS, JOHN MUNIZ has been involved in many Club Activities, including holding two fund raising crab feeds to support Millbrae Lions projects, a Millbrae Lions Club 70th Anniversary Gala, a Baseball Pancake Breakfast fundraiser and a Millbrae Lions Club Community Blood drive, and also sponsored the Millbrae Lions Club Leo’s Club; and

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on June 19, 2008, hereby commends and honors JOHN MUNIZ for his service as Millbrae Lions Club President 2007-2008, and for his outstanding commitment to the Millbrae community.
